Feral Cat Day
(October 16, 2008)

Animal Care Center participated in a feral cat snip and tip program in honor of National Feral Cat day.

Feral Cats are undomesticated and tend to live in groups where food is readily available. Because they are in altered and unvaccinated, they multiply and spread disease.

Dr. Ashley Bowers and Dr. George Bowers along with the entire staff at Animal Care Center donated the entire day to testing, vaccinating and altering some of Franklin County’s feral cats.

Residents with feral cats were encouraged to participate in this program. At the end of the day 28 cats were tested, vaccinated, and altered. It was such a success that we hope to be able to do it again next year.
