Country music lovers get ready for a big night in Winchester.

On Saturday, Nashville recording artist and Winchester native, Lee Gibson is bringing his first CD release concert home to benefit Animal Harbor’s new building fund.

The concert will be held at Arezzo’s Italian Restaurant at 7 p.m.

“This show has been in the works for a couple of months now,” Gibson said. “After speaking with Gail Castle from Animal Harbor back in July, we both thought this was a no-brainer to help raise awareness for the need for the new building.”

When Gibson was growing up in Winchester he would visit Animal Lover and Greenthumb, ‘Ms. Grace’ of Grace’s Greenhouse in Winchester Springs.

“She was always helping pets that needed a new home and that rubbed off on us a little bit,” Gibson said. “We adopted a few strays and did what we could do then.”

About 10 years ago, Gibson and his wife adopted a dog from a pound in Virginia.

“They just didn’t know she was pregnant,” Gibson said. “I think being around Ms. Grace all those years ago left a lasting impression on how many animals need a loving home, and so many places like Animal Harbor need our help.”

Over the past year, Gibson has been a featured artist at concerts benefiting Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue, Tennessee Death Row Dogs, and now locally for Animal Harbor.

The event is sponsored in part by Arezzo’s, Russell Barnett Automotive Family, Traders Bank, Town and Country Veterinary Hospital, Animal Care Center, Tennessee Cedar Cabins, Midtown Veterinary Services and Hospital, and Bunny’s MMA (Security).

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for 17 and under. They can be purchased online at www.LeeGibsonMusic.com under the “Tour Dates” link.

Those who pre-buy tickets through Lee’s website will be automatically entered to win a number of prize packages that night.
